Pre-Thanksgiving Update

As I previously mentioned, I will be away for Thanksgiving starting today. Still, I time before we leave so I figured it was a good time to make a blog post keeping everyone up to date about what is going on.

The second book in the Honor’s Path series is now 22 chapters long, and roughly 90% written, with about 3 or 4 chapters to go (I initially guessed 24 chapters long, so I was pretty close!). Also looking like my estimate of 120,000 words was decent, although I’m starting to suspect I am going to be low.

In any case, I will try to continue working on that while I am away, but experience tells me that any progress will be minimal. Still, worth the attempt. It is looking a lot like I will definitely make my December 15th deadline, although that may also slip slightly if the book runs long. Still, it should be accurate to within a day or two at least.

What does that mean? Well, for one it means I will soon be able to throw myself into editing and I am going to set a goal of getting Book 2 out by December of next year. I will also begin writing Book 3 at some point, and probably also try my hand at a shorter novella as well. That probably sounds absurdly ambitions, and it is, but this year has made me believe that it is something I can handle so long as I apply myself (plus this year I won’t be contending with moving!).

Finally: minor tweaks to the blog layout. New archive widget on the right and slight changes to the header. Nobody else probably cares, but this is my blog so I get to brag if I want. :3
